Characteristics of churches that are “alive”:

Spirit-filled members
Spirit-led pastors

Ephesians 2:8-10

God will not accept our work unless it is done:

in the power of the Holy Spirit
out of love for God
solely for the glory of God

What makes a dead church?

The Holy Spirit is not there!
The leaders are not led by the Holy Spirit

How do you know a dead church?

Most of the people are not even born again – they play church
Sin runs rampant and is not dealt with – There is no church discipline
It is not committed to teaching and living out the Word of God.
It de-emphasizes Jesus and the Holy Spirit
It is more concerned with material issues than spiritual things

Even in a dead church – there is always a remnant

Jesus’ prescription to the problem – the Remnant

Wake up!
Remember!
Repent!
Reap!
